Nothing grows alone.
People, ideas and societies develop through relationships, exchange and interplay with their environment. The future, too, emerges from this interconnectedness: we build on what earlier generations left behind, and at the same time we lay the foundations for the lives of those who come after us. We are tomorrow’s ancestors.
TEDxGöttingen 2027 explores how growth and change become possible across people, disciplines, and generations. Perspectives from science, technology, society, and nature reveal what can emerge when we share knowledge, strengthen trust, and create space to develop ideas together. At its heart are our ability to shape the future and our responsibility for what we create, change, or preserve.
Alongside the talks, you can look forward to a culinary market with stalls from local producers. Explore the diversity of the region, meet the people behind the products, and enjoy a meal along the way. Food and drinks are included in the ticket price.
What kind of ancestors do we want to be? An evening about the connections that sustain us, the possibilities we open up together, and the lasting imprint our decisions leave on the future.

Zainab Al-Eqabi
Advocate, Creator and Speaker
Zainab Al-Eqabi is a motivational speaker, content creator, and advocate for inclusion who is dedicated to challenging perceptions of disability and empowering people to live without limits.
After losing her left leg at the age of seven following a bomb explosion in Iraq, she transformed her personal experience into a mission to promote visibility, representation, and equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
Originally from Baghdad and now based in the United Arab Emirates, Zainab has built a global platform through social media, public speaking, television, and advocacy. As a traveler, model, and TV host, she uses her voice to challenge stereotypes, inspire confidence, and encourage a more inclusive society. She was also the first woman from the Middle East to become a global ambassador for Ottobock.
Through her work, Zainab demonstrates that true empowerment comes not only from overcoming disability, but also from removing barriers and enabling people to fully participate in society.
Her story is a powerful reminder that human potential is often found where others least expect it.

Sabine Mariss
Coach and Trainer
Sabine Mariss, a trained educator and musician, discovered the “magic of listening” as early as 1984 during a study trip to northern India.
Mastering classical Dhrupad singing required a completely new level of precision and depth in perceiving the finest nuances.
This special “acute listening” forms the foundation of Mariss’s expertise as a personal development coach and coach for Nonviolent Communication (NVC according to Rosenberg).
At its core, the question remains: How can deep listening, to both my counterpart and myself, give rise to a presence that truly reaches and moves people?
For over two decades, Mariss has been guiding executives and researchers on their journey toward a coherent, compelling presence and successful communication.

David Gebhardt
CTO
David Gebhardt is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a member of the management team at mobile.de, Germany’s largest automotive marketplace.
Guided by his conviction that outstanding digital products emerge from the symbiosis of technology, people, and business, his career began with a degree in business informatics within a dual-study program at IBM. He went on to advise companies across Europe on their digital transformation as part of the Advisory Services team at Ernst & Young (EY).
Since 2015, he has helped build new business areas at mobile.de, among other roles, before stepping up to lead Product & Technology in 2019. In 2022, he was recognized as one of „Capital 40 under 40.“
What he has learned about leading in a world stuck on fast-forward, David also knows from a second discipline: as a multiple-time marathon runner, Ironman finisher, and 100-km ultramarathon finisher, he understands the difference between short-term sprinting and the art of managing energy over long distances.
It’s exactly this parallel between a long race and a long (working) life in the age of acceleration that sits at the heart of his TEDx talk.

Organizer & Moderator TEDxGöttingen

More Than a Conference
TEDxGöttingen is designed as an immersive evening of ideas, dialogue, music, and human connection.
Throughout the evening, TEDxGöttingen will feature live musical interludes creating emotional moments of reflection, connection, and inspiration between the talks.
The evening includes curated networking and catering (included) at Struckmeier Plaza in Göttingen.
The Venue: Struckmeier Plaza. Room for Ideas.
In 2027, TEDxGöttingen moves to Struckmeier Plaza, a bright, modern space in Göttingen created by people who think about rooms for a living.
For one evening, this becomes our stage, open, contemporary and close to the ideas.
Our motto asks us to create space for ideas to grow together. Struckmeier does exactly that every day, and in the breaks, the Plaza turns into a tasting market with stands from local producers. Good conversations need good food, and both grow best when they are shared.
